The Institute of Biology, as an integral part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, represents Republic of Macedonia’s leading educational and research institution in the field of biology.
The advancement of all biological disciplines, of biological technology, and of biological thought as a whole, has contributed to the modern knowledge in biology to be widely applied in almost every human activity. Today, biological advances find application in addressing global problems, as well as in the utilization of energy resources, the production of healthy foods, the improvement of health conditions, dealing with environmental pollution and sustainable development. Therefore, the primary goal of each country is to develop the scientific and research potentials and to create conditions for applying the achievements of modern biology.
