Biography

M.Sc. Cvetanka Stojchevska was born in 1991 in Ohrid, where she completed her primary and secondary education. She graduated in 2014 in the field of ecology as the top student at the Institute of Biology, with a GPA of 9.74.
After graduating, she began volunteering at the Laboratory of Systematics and Phylogeny of Higher Plants and Phytogeography with Phytocoenology. She completed her Master’s studies in February 2022 with a GPA of 10.00, and since January 2025 she has been enrolled in PhD studies at the Institute of Biology – Ecology module.
She has been engaged at the Institute of Biology since 2017, and in 2020 she was employed as a senior laboratory technician at the Botanical Garden. Since October 2023, she has been working as a research assistant in the field of botany.
Her scientific interest is focused on floristic and vegetation studies of meadows, wetlands, and rivers. Within her doctoral studies, she is involved in the study of mosses as bioindicators of the ecological status of rivers, from both vegetation and taxonomic perspectives, contributing to the development of this research field in the country. She further advances her scientific knowledge through collaboration with the Faculty of Science in Zagreb.
At the Botanical Garden, she is involved in numerous activities related to education, promotion, and plant conservation. She is the creator of many botanical educational games and workshops intended for kindergarten children as well as primary and secondary school students.
In addition to her academic work, she actively participates in several national and international projects in the fields of flora, vegetation, ecology, and plant conservation.
