Биографија

Professor Dr. Maja Jordanova was born on September 3, 1964 in Skopje, where she completed primary and secondary education. She completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Institute of Biology at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Skopje. His doctoral dissertation under the title - Black bream in Salmo letnica , Kar. (Teleostei, Salmonidae) in the reproductive cycle. Microscopic study of a female individual from the natural population in Lake Ohrid - defense on May 14, 2004, which earned her the title of Doctor of Biological Sciences. Professor Jordanova has been employed at the Institute since 1991 and was involved in teaching a large number of subjects. In the last few years since becoming a full professor, Professor Jordanova has been involved in theoretical and practical teaching in the subjects Organic Evolution, Cell Biology, Basics of Ecology and Evolution, Behavior of Animals and Basic of embriology. As a result of many years of experience in practical and theoretical teaching in more scientific disciplines, for the successful realization of the teaching, Professor Jordanova has prepared seven internal scripts and issued two practicums on Biology with Human Genetics and the Magical World called cells.

Professor Jordanova has participated in the preparation of a large number of graduate theses (42), and was a mentor for 15 graduate theses, a member of the commission for the defense of several master's theses and doctoral dissertations. She was a mentor for one master's thesis and one doctoral dissertation. In the past period, Dr. Maja Jordanova has published 75 scientific works, mainly in international journals, of which 33 have an impact factor. Her previous efforts relate to histological changes in the elderly under the influence of high ambient temperature and under the influence of certain hormones. In recent years, Professor Jordanova's research has focused on examining seasonal changes in the gill tissue of Ohrid trout using stereological methods, ultrastructural characteristics of Ohrid trout, histopathological changes in fish as a result of environmental pollution, and the application of histological and immunological biomarkers in the assessment of the quality of water exosystems. The results of his research have been presented in 60 scientific publications at various scientific gatherings in the country and abroad. She was also the leader of a bilateral Macedonian-Croatian project entitled - Assessment of the availability and impact of metals on fish populations in rivers affected by mining activities, and she was a participant in 7 projects. She was the editor of the scientific journal Biologia Macedonica, published by the Institute of Biology.

Since 2007, Professor Jordanova has been a collaborator at FishBase. It is also registered in the databases SCOPUS (https://mk.h-index.com/mk/author/57220222072), ORCID ( https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6272-0738 ), research gate ( https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Maja-Jordanova ) and google scholar (https://scholar.google.com/Jordanova Maja).

In the period from 2008-2010 she was the head of the zoological institute, and from 2011-2013 she was the coordinator of the institute for cytology, histology and embryology. Since 2012, she has also been the head of the cytology, histology and embryology laboratories. Professor Dr. Maja Jordanova was a member of the University Senate from 2012-2014. She was also the coordinator for EKTS at the Institute of Biology for two terms.
